Feste barocche "per inciso"
A selection of fifty engravings coming from the “Museo di Roma” to document the scenary of Rome as “The Great Theatre of the World”, the place where laic and religious feasts and ceremonies were settled. During these ceremonies, especially in the XVII century, great short-lived stage sets were realized in the streets, in the squares and in the churches, by the most famous architects of those times.
An event characterized by many and different aspects which influenced, among the other things, also the urban and traditional image of the eternal city. The exposition is part of the cultural project “Barocco a Rome”. La meraviglia delle arti”, promoted by the “Fondazione Roma” and organized by the “Fondazione Roma –Arts-Museums for the revaluation of the historic, artistic and architectural heritage.
